Race Details
- Date: New Years Day, Friday 1st January 2027
- Start Time: 11.30am for Seniors, 11am for Juniors (under 16)
- Distance: 5 miles for Seniors, 1 mile for Juniors
- Closing Date: 10am, Wednesday, 30th December 2026

The Hangover 5 is a 5-mile race held every New Year’s Day at Hill Barn, Worthing. It is organised by Worthing Gazelles and is part of the West Sussex Fun Run League (WSFRL).

Entries will be available on the day until the race is full (or when the race starts!), and will be cash only.
Parking
On the day, there will be no parking available in the Hill Barn Recreation car park. However, there will be ample parking and Car Park marshals at Worthing College (Google Maps) about 100m walk from the race start/finish. Please see the map for additional available parking here.
Course
An approximately 5-mile (8km) course over hilly, uneven chalky tracks and paths up to Cissbury Ring and back. Not suitable for U16’s. Unsuitable for wheelchair athletes.
In the event of poor conditions (i.e. the field is waterlogged), we may be forced to cut out the lap of the field at the beginning. A decision will be made on the morning; if this is the case, we will communicate this the best we can. The course would then be approximately 4 miles.
Facilities: Medical cover, toilets, changing area, no showers. Bags left at owner’s risk. Medals for junior race. Water at the finish; no water on the course.
